A baby Masai giraffe has been born at Kumamoto City Zoological and Botanical Gardens, and its adorable appearance is delighting visitors.
Masai giraffes are classified as endangered on the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s Red List. The baby is a female, and was born on July 17, 2025. This is the first birth for mother giraffe Konatsu (age 5). The baby has thrived and is now 180cm tall. The baby has been put on public display, with monitoring of its health being monitored.
