Burger King Japan has announced the limited-time release of its massive cheeseburger, the “2nd Generation BABY BODY BURGER,” starting May 1, 2026, in collaboration with the Japan Sumo Association.
The burger features five flame-grilled 100% beef patties stacked with eight slices of cheddar cheese, delivering a “Yokozuna-class” size with a total of 1,856 kcal and approximately 661 grams in weight. It is further topped with bacon, pickles, onions, and finished with ketchup and mustard.
This product marks the second installment of the collaboration inspired by Japan’s national sport, sumo wrestling. Customers who purchase the burger will receive a limited-edition original sticker while supplies last.
The price is set at ¥2,890 for the burger alone and ¥3,190 for a set meal (tax included), available at Burger King locations across Japan (excluding select stores).
Annotation
In Japan, oversized food often carries entertainment value, and Burger King has built a reputation for releasing “challenge-style” menu items. Sumo wrestling, on the other hand, celebrates size, power, and presence—making this collaboration culturally aligned.
From the perspective of Wright Brothers News, this is more than a food release; it represents a strong fusion of culture and product design. Globally, it has the potential to resonate as a “Big Food Challenge” concept, especially on social media platforms.
